Stole Stevie-Who?

Oh no Stevie got kidnapped, was it the WarHawks of UW-Whitewater? My crew of private eye detectives Anthony Rottier, Jack Fernre, Clarissa Evans, and Lukas Endmann went out to find Stevie. We were in a hurry to make sure Stevie our beloved mascot.
The Warhawks of the horrible and cruel UW-Whitewater kidnapped Stevie to only hide him in the most masterist place know as the LIBARY. Most Pointer on the famous of UW-Stevens Point avoid the library at all cost. It is large and a true maze, students can't kind anything- which make it the best place to hide the beloved mascot. The crew set out together following clues left by the Warhawks. Clue number let the crew to the second floor. One the second floor houses the collection of newspapers and magazines for students to check out. The crew searched for the current issues of "The Pointer". Left with the clue to repeat "Free the bound periodicals" to the staff. They then gave us the letter E. The next clue took us to the first floor of the library, leading us to the "shark hanging up", the clue lead us to the the Museum within our UWSP library to the Golden Pacific Plover. Where is this egg from the deactivates asked, if we can find out we will get our next letter. Alaska, the egg is from Alaska- A.
Two clues down for our detectives and Stevie still missing. Already on the first floor the followed the next clue leading them to the enclypdias on the first floor. Clever little Warhawks figured if our mascot was a Pointer we should read up on the enclypida of Dogs and pay great attention to the English Pointer on page 196. They detectives following the second half of the clue went to the Librarian at the help desk to tell her to where she could find information on the English Pointer. Got it- she gave the a letter V.

Next the dectivites went franticly ran to the third floor of the library where the instructional Material Center is, to look through the CD collection. The collection is organized similar to the stacks of books with class numbers. The Warhawks provided a clue posted on the collection with the call number to the Rolling Stones album- letter R was the next letter given to the detectives.

They sat a plundered on what the letters V, A, E, and R spell and more importantly where is Stevie? At that moment when they begin to lose hope and faith that Stevie would be found safely a tip came in and the kind napping Warhawks of Whitewater have been spotted. "The Warhawk is on the fourth floor! His on the fourth floor!". With deactivate Anthony Rottier leading the way the group follows. The call number PN 2287 . C5*, an autobiography of Chaplin! Got it, they got the letter C and better yet they now understand how to read call numbers. Oh was Chaplin sketchy but not like the Warhawks.
The dectitves boarded the elevator to find their next clue, number 6, on the fifth floor of the library.  On the bright green shelving they began searching in the zoology section.  Rummaging for the call number QL37.P96 they found a organatain above the book holding the letter H.  This was the next letter in the important search for our Pointer.

Our final clue would take us to the sixth floor of the library, where our culprit was suspected to be planning their escape. Here the publications of the U.S. Government are kept safely atop the top floor.  The SuDocs call numbers begin with the first letters of the federal agency in which they belong.  We were clued the Smithsonian Institution may have a connection to our search.  Indeed its SuDoc call number began with the letters S & I, the final two letters in our search for our Pointer.

The clues left us with the letters C, R, I, E, S, A, H, V. What does it spell? Whelp our lovely detectives put their heads together and spelled........ ARCHIVES! In the end we found our beloved Stevie Pointer in the ARCHIVES of the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. Those Warhawks  can never fool the Pointers that are always on Point.
